Boston, MA—February 22, 2012 Brian Abaluck, MD, is now authoring Sleep HealthCenters’ new blog Sleep and You (www.sleepandyou.com/blog).
The Sleep and You blog, launched in 2011, allows Sleep HealthCenters’ physicians to provide online commentary regarding the topic of sleep as it appears in the news and in recently released medical studies, as well as how sleep connects to many aspects of our everyday lives. It is estimated that insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), narcolepsy, excessive daytime sleepiness and restless legs syndrome plague an estimated 40 million Americans.
Dr. Abaluck, who is board-certified in neurology and is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, has written about the connections sleep has to weight gain, commented on the effect of mattress quality on sleep and recently explored the validity of not sleeping after an emotional trauma. His blog posts have also included topics such as relationships stressors and sleep, the science of dreaming, and the myth that forgoing sleep should not be a sign of an athlete’s strength and worth.
